Vision Statement

The Gluckstadt Police Department is dedicated to preventing and fighting crime through the utilization of the latest law enforcement practices and technology. Members of our department work in collaboration with our community, city entities, and other public service protection organizations to preserve the well-being of Gluckstadt residents and visitors.

The Gluckstadt Police Department strives every day to improve the quality of life for our community. Staying on the forefront of law enforcement technology along with continuing to provide quality educational and informative programs to our community will allow us to accomplish our ultimate objective: Providing Gluckstadt with the highest level of law enforcement services possible.

Mission Statement

The Gluckstadt Police Department, partnering with the community, will be dedicated to preventing, controlling crime, and preserving the quality of life in Gluckstadt through firm, fair, and impartial law enforcement strategies. 

Core Values

Police employees are often the visual representation that citizens have of the city as a whole. All police employees shall share in the core values of the Gluckstadt Police Department, those being:

1. Integrity: We do this by being honest in our dealings and abiding by the laws and respecting the civil rights of all. Serving with integrity builds trust between the community and the police. We are committed to the enforcement of laws and the preservation of order and property. We will personify high ethical standards, honesty, truthfulness, and consistency in our words and actions. This is how we prove ourselves to be worthy of the public’s trust.
2. Dedication: Officers will exhibit a complete and wholehearted devotion to service toward members of our community. To be dedicated to something is no light matter. It is a solemn commitment to self. It is a commitment to those closest to you and to those of our community
3. Honor: It is a privilege to serve as a member of the law enforcement community and especially as a member of the Gluckstadt Police Department. Each day when you put on your badge, remember those in law enforcement who went before you and the sacrifices made in the name of this badge. Treat your badge with honor, respect, and pride. Do nothing that will tarnish your badge, for one day you will pass it to another Gluckstadt police officer to honor and respect. Integrity is the foundation of policing and building successful relationships with our partners. Integrity means reflecting our values through our actions. Each of us must live the values of honor and integrity in our professional and personal lives. Employees will perform in such a manner as to be held in high public esteem as a source of credit or distinction to the Gluckstadt Police Department.
