About the Gluckstadt Police Department

The Gluckstadt Police Department was officially established in 2022 with the hiring of the city’s first Chief of Police, Wendell E. Watts. On October 10, 2023, Chief Barry W. Hale was sworn in as the department’s second Chief of Police. Under his leadership, the command staff was assembled and began the process of building Gluckstadt’s first-ever municipal police department.

The department is committed to delivering exceptional law enforcement services to the citizens of Gluckstadt. With a dedicated team of patrol officers and professional office staff, we proudly uphold a community-oriented approach to policing that emphasizes engagement, transparency, and accountability.

Our mission is to maintain a safe and secure environment through proactive policing and community partnerships. We envision Gluckstadt as a city known for both its zero tolerance for crime and its commitment to compassion, responsiveness, and respect for the rights of all individuals.
