IMPORTANT ALERT – SCAM NOTICE

Photo

The City has been made aware of a scammer impersonating the City of Gluckstadt and using our official logo to contact local businesses. These messages are not from the City, its employees, or any city-authorized partner.

Scammers are sending emails or messages that appear “official,” often requesting payments, fees, donations, sponsorships, or account updates. Some messages may include the city logo, city photos, or names of city programs to appear legitimate.

The City will never request money, gift cards, or confidential financial information via unsolicited email, text, or social media message. We will never pressure businesses to act immediately or threaten negative consequences for not responding.

What Businesses Should Do:

Do not click any links or attachments from suspicious messages.

Do not send money or provide bank information, passwords, or personal data.

Verify first: If you receive a questionable message, contact City Hall directly using the phone number on our official website—not the number provided by the scammer.

Save the message to assist in reporting it.

All official city communications come from verified @gluckstadt.net email addresses.

Official requests for business involvement (sponsorships, permits, licensing, etc.) are typically made through formal letters, published notices, or direct communication from known staff.

Businesses should report suspicious messages to:
