The City of Gluckstadt would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the Mississippi Humanities Council for awarding the City a $20,000 grant to support the documentary project Threads of a Flag: The Story of Gluckstadt.

This generous grant represents a meaningful investment in preserving and sharing the history of our community. As one of Mississippi’s newest cities, Gluckstadt’s incorporation is the result of decades of shared experiences, community pride, and civic determination. Through this documentary, we seek to capture the voices, stories, and events that shaped our city and to ensure they are preserved for future generations.

Your support allows us to thoughtfully document Gluckstadt’s journey—from its early roots to the moment our city formally raised its own flag—and to present that story in a way that reflects the values, culture, and people who made it possible. We are deeply appreciative of the Mississippi Humanities Council’s commitment to promoting history, storytelling, and the humanities throughout our state.

Thank you for your confidence in this project and for your continued dedication to helping communities across Mississippi preserve and celebrate their unique histories. We look forward to honoring this opportunity by producing a documentary that serves as a lasting record of Gluckstadt’s story.
